Throughout 2025, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) recorded more than 300 public reports related to job vacancy scams targeting Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI). These fraudulent practices were widely found across digital platforms, including social media and job search websites, often luring victims with promises of high salaries and fast recruitment processes.
In response, Kemkomdigi intensified digital space monitoring and actively took down fake and illegal job vacancy content. The government also strengthened coordination with the Ministry for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI) to curb the spread of misleading information and provide better protection for prospective migrant workers from illegal recruitment practices.
